Empowering youth through chess and mentorship
We provide a safe, welcoming space for youth ages 8 to 18 in Charlotte to learn critical thinking, master chess, and build lifelong friendships.
What we offer young minds
Through structured play and academic guidance, we help students develop decision-making skills, self-confidence, and a supportive community.
Chess instruction
From fundamental tactics to advanced strategy, we teach kids to think ahead and analyze every move.
Tutoring and homework help
Dedicated academic support ensures members stay on track with schoolwork and build strong study habits.
Youth mentorship
Caring mentors offer personal encouragement, guiding members to make positive choices on and off the board.
School partnerships
Collaborating with local Charlotte schools and groups to foster broader community awareness and access.
More than just a game
The Chess Program is a nonprofit community built around the belief that every young person deserves a safe space to grow. By combining chess with tutoring, life skills, and active mentorship, we inspire kids and teens across Charlotte to think critically, respect one another, and pursue their goals with confidence.
